Outdoor Ethics of the Leave No Trace Organization

Leave No Trace carries on in the footprints of the 19th century poet Walt Whitman, the first popular naturalist, Thoreau, the work of Aldo Leopold to protect wilderness areas by law, and the author of the great 'Wilderness Letter,' Wallace Stegner (among others who favor reason and education as the means to get people to behave more responsibly when visiting wilderness or backcountry), but with a more direct and comprehensive ethic.  What follows is the core values of their outdoor ethic - from their website www.lnt.org (please visit this site).  We at Ultralight Wilderness Toilet share the same passion to protect, preserve, and expand wilderness via our Packit Toilet kit.
